Most Belarusian passport holders can fly to Vietnam without a visa, on an allowance of 30 days per entry and 90 days per calendar year. Here is what the exemption covers, when you still need a visa, and what one costs.
Usually not. Belarus and Vietnam waive visas for each other's ordinary passport holders under a bilateral agreement in force since 30 January 2025: 30 days per entry, capped at 90 days per calendar year. The agreement text published by the Embassy of Belarus in Vietnam adds that anyone staying longer than 30 days, "regardless of the purpose of the trip", must obtain a visa in advance.

Two numbers circulate for Belarus and only one is current. Belarus sat on Vietnam's unilateral 45-day list until Resolution 44/NQ-CP of 7 March 2025 replaced it with 12 countries, Belarus not among them. Resolution 229/NQ-CP of 8 August 2025 adds 12 more, 24 in total, and Belarus is not there either. What covers Belarus instead is the bilateral agreement, which Vietnam's national tourism administration confirmed took effect on 30 January 2025.
So the visa requirements for Belarus citizens turn on the shape of the trip. Inside 30 days, on an ordinary passport, you board with nothing else. Outside those limits you need a visa, and the eVisa is the practical route. Vietnam opened it to all nationalities on 15 August 2023 under Resolution 127/NQ-CP, confirmed by the Embassy of Vietnam in the United States. It runs to 90 days, single or multiple entry, arrives as a PDF and works at 83 checkpoints: 17 airports, 27 land border gates and 39 seaports. Phu Quoc separately waives the visa for 30 days for any nationality arriving directly from abroad by air or sea, with an onward ticket and no trip to the mainland.
Belarusian traffic is climbing fast: Khanh Hoa province, home to Nha Trang, welcomed more than 3,200 Belarusian visitors in 2024, nearly 8,900 in 2025 and over 2,100 in January and February 2026. Companions on other passports should check our eligibility index by country: the exemption is yours, not theirs.
⚠️ If a page tells you Belarusians get 45 days, it is out of date. That figure was correct until Resolution 44/NQ-CP dropped Belarus in March 2025, and stale versions still sit on tourism pages, agency sites and search snippets. Plan to 30 and the difference costs you nothing. Plan to 45 and you are 15 days into an overstay before you notice.
Four situations put a Belarusian traveler back in the visa queue, and the last two catch people out far more often.
The trip runs past 30 days. The agreement sets the limit per entry and says longer stays need a visa arranged before you travel. There is no extension counter at the airport and no grace period.
You have used up the 90 days. This is the one that catches repeat regional travelers, and Belarus is full of them now that Minsk has direct service to two Vietnamese beach destinations. The cap is cumulative and runs on the calendar, not on a rolling twelve months. Three 30-day winter trips between January and December exhaust it exactly, and a fourth entry that year needs a visa even for a long weekend. It resets on 1 January, not on the anniversary of your first trip, so if you spent February and April in Vietnam and are eyeing December, count your days before you book.
The purpose goes beyond a visit. Employment, study and long-term residence are not what a short visa-free entry is for, and they sit outside what we handle. Those need a visa arranged with a sponsor in Vietnam.
Your passport falls short. The exemption covers valid ordinary passports, and your document also has to satisfy the airline, which means six months of validity beyond arrival and two blank pages per UK Foreign Office guidance. A check-in agent in Minsk applies that whether or not you need a visa.
In each case the eVisa covers you for up to 90 days, single or multiple entry, with no embassy appointment. We do not process visa-on-arrival letters.
If you do need the eVisa, six things. Most rejections trace back to the first two.
⚠️ Whether an emergency or temporary travel document works for an eVisa is unknown, so plan around it. Neither the Vietnamese government nor its embassies have published a position either way, and inventing one is not something we will do. Use your ordinary Belarusian passport, the only document the bilateral exemption covers either. If a temporary document is all you hold, ring +84 832 320 320 before you pay.

Vietnam charges $25 for a single-entry eVisa and $50 for a multiple-entry one, a rate set by Circular 28/2026/TT-BTC and unchanged since 1 April 2026. On a $54 single-entry order, $25 goes to Vietnam and $29 is our fee for preparing, checking and filing it.

Most Belarusians reading this should pay neither of us: a two-week beach trip needs no visa at all. We would rather say so than take $54 from someone who owes nothing. Three speeds, all priced per applicant:
None of those counts begin at payment. They begin once the application is in front of Vietnam Immigration, normally about 2 business hours later. On paper the standard is 3 working days; in the real world 3 to 5, and more whenever a Vietnamese public holiday falls in the middle.
That schedule is set in Hanoi, not by us. How fast the file goes in and whether errors are caught are ours to control; the day an approval is signed is not. Two weeks of margin removes the question. Flying inside 24 hours, call before paying, and if we cannot deliver you will be told so and refunded.
This is a question about the route, not the names on the price list. Arrive once, depart once, and single entry has done the entire job.
Multiple entry is the right call the moment your route leaves Vietnam and comes back. A Belarusian quirk sits here: because the exemption is written as 30 days per entry, crossing into Cambodia or Laos and returning starts a fresh 30 days, though both halves count toward your annual total. An eVisa does not work that way: a single-entry eVisa is spent the moment you cross out. The upgrade costs $30 on a one-month visa, $10 on a three-month one. When in doubt, choose multiple entry.
The portal's own wording is thin: a photograph, straight on, without glasses. Thin wording is how photographs end up rejected and applications wait. Five points make an image safe:
Belarusians land on the coast, not the capital. Belavia flies Minsk to Cam Ranh (CXR), the airport for Nha Trang, on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays, on an Airbus A330-200 over nearly 9,300 km in about 11 hours, a service that began on 20 March 2026.
Phu Quoc (PQC) is the other direct option, seasonal. Belavia flew charters there from October 2025 and, according to the state news agency BelTA, resumes on 13 and 23 October 2026 before going twice weekly on Tuesdays and Saturdays. Noi Bai in Hanoi (HAN) and Tan Son Nhat in Ho Chi Minh City (SGN) each need one connection from Minsk, Da Nang (DAD) usually two.
Travel on the exemption and the 83-checkpoint list is not your constraint; it governs eVisa entry. An eVisa covers 27 land crossings, so returning overland from Cambodia or Laos is fine, and 39 seaports for cruise arrivals.
Vietnam now expects a pre-arrival declaration at the airports Belarusians use. The Immigration Department's system at prearrival.immigration.gov.vn went live at Tan Son Nhat on 15 April 2026, Phu Quoc on 1 June, Noi Bai and Da Nang on 15 June 2026 and Cam Ranh later that month. Submit passport, flight and accommodation details within three days of arrival and a QR code comes back. State media calls it mandatory and the UK Foreign Office does not, so treat it as required.
Since 15 December 2025 the price of an overstay has been set by Decree 282/2025, which raised the top fine to VND 40 million from VND 20 million, around USD 1,520. On a visa-free entry the exposure is identical.
The band you land in depends on how far over you went. Under 16 days is VND 500,000 to 2 million, or USD 19 to 76. From 16 to 30 days it becomes VND 5 to 10 million, or USD 190 to 380, climbing in bands beyond that. Those dollar figures come from December 2025 conversions and are approximate.
The fine is the smaller half. An overstay is also a deportable matter and a reason to refuse you entry later, and UK Foreign Office guidance points out that you can be held from leaving Vietnam until it is settled.
⚠️ A visa-free entry gives you no PDF to check, which is exactly why Belarusians overstay it. An eVisa holder has a printed exit date; you have an entry stamp and a number you are expected to remember. Photograph the stamp, add 30 days to it in your phone calendar, and keep a running note of your annual days.
Thirty. Belarus held a 45-day unilateral exemption until Resolution 44/NQ-CP of 7 March 2025 replaced that list with 12 countries not including Belarus. What covers Belarusians now is the bilateral agreement of 30 January 2025, at 30 days per entry. Tourism pages and agency sites still carry the old figure.
It is the total of all your days in Vietnam between 1 January and 31 December, from whatever visa-free entries. Leaving and re-entering resets the 30-day permission for that entry but not the annual total. Border officers can see your history, so do not count on separate trips going unnoticed.
Treat it as no. The agreement says stays over 30 days need a visa obtained before you travel, and extensions inside Vietnam go through a licensed Vietnamese agency or law office, which we do not offer. If the trip will run long, apply for a 90-day eVisa first.
Not through us. We stopped processing visa-on-arrival letters. The route survives as a pre-approval scheme at a handful of airports, never at land borders, and still needs paperwork before you fly. For a Belarusian it solves nothing.
No, and the island rule is not even the reason. Your bilateral 30 days already cover Phu Quoc and the mainland, so you can fly the Minsk charter, spend a week on the island and hop to Ho Chi Minh City. The island waiver is narrower: direct arrival, onward ticket, no leaving Phu Quoc.
Getting there is easier from Minsk than from most European capitals. The nonstop to Cam Ranh runs about 11 hours out and 11 hours 40 minutes back, leaving Minsk at 00:30, per Belavia's schedule. Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City need a connection, and the hubs sit east and south rather than west, because the EU banned Belarusian carriers from its airspace and airports on 4 June 2021. Moscow works, since Vietnam Airlines flies Sheremetyevo to Hanoi nonstop, as does Istanbul, about nine hours on to Hanoi, or Dubai, six hours 45 minutes. Budget 16 to 20 hours door to door.
Vietnam keeps a resident embassy in Minsk, at 2nd lane Sobinov 15, per the mission's own site. You need it for neither a visa-free entry nor an eVisa, but a lost passport is handled there.
Vietnam is four hours ahead, all year. Belarus sits at UTC+3 and has not moved its clocks since it abandoned seasonal changes in 2011. Vietnam is UTC+7 with no daylight saving either. The calendar matters at both ends. Belarus takes 1 and 2 January, Orthodox Christmas on 7 January, Women's Day on 8 March, Labour Day on 1 May, Victory Day on 9 May, Independence Day on 3 July, October Revolution Day on 7 November and Christmas on 25 December, per the presidential portal's holiday list. The Minsk beach season peaks October to March, and New Year week is when charters fill first. Vietnamese offices close for several days at Tet, so a visa filed then moves slowly.
Payment needs planning. We charge in US dollars and your issuer converts, so expect a small gap between the screen price and your statement. Cards from sanctioned Belarusian banks stopped working for payments outside the country in 2022, so check yours before you reach the payment screen. If it will not go through, the cardholder need not be one of the travelers. Vietnam runs on the dong, and card acceptance thins fast outside the cities.
