Vietnam Visas for Citizens of Sweden

From 15 Aug 2023, the government of Vietnam decided to extend the duration of stays in Vietnam from 15 to 45 days for citizens of 13 countries who are unilaterally exempted from visas by Vietnam.

These countries are Germany, France, Italy, Spain, the U.K., Northern Ireland, Russia, Japan, South Korea, Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Finland and Belarus. Citizens of these countries are allowed to stay for 45 days from the time of entry, regardless of passport type and entry purpose.


Swedish passport holders need visa to Vietnam or Not?

As a citizen of this country, you are required no entry visa for a stay of maximum 14 days in Vietnam.

If staying longer than 14 days in Vietnam, Swedish passport holders need to get a visa


How to apply?

There are options:

1. Apply Vietnam visa online (Recommended).

This is called Vietnam Visa on Arrival (VOA). You apply Vietnam visa online via website: www.vietnamvisa.govt.vn, obtain the approval letter to pick up Visa at the airports in Vietnam.

2. Or contact local Vietnam Embassy for Visa stamped on your passport before arriving Vietnam.
